“私奔”，用英語(yǔ)要怎么說(shuō)？

我們可以直接使用elope這個(gè)詞來(lái)表示“私奔”，elope有兩個(gè)意思：

1. to run away secretly with the intention of getting married usually without parental consent（一般未經(jīng)父母同意，為了結婚而偷偷地逃跑）

2. to run away from one's spouse with a lover（與情人一起私奔，逃離原配）

例：She attempted to elope, but didn't get far and was sent home.

她試過(guò)私奔，但沒(méi)跑多遠就被送回家了。

不過(guò)，現在私奔有了新的含義，也可用于指舉辦小型私密的婚禮。

例：If you opt to elope instead and invite only a few dear friends and family, you could end up saving yourself tens of thousands of dollars.

如果你選擇私密婚禮，只邀請幾個(gè)親密的朋友和家人，你可以為自己省下成千上萬(wàn)美元。

另外，還可以用run off/away with sb來(lái)描述與某人私奔。
